Have You Tried Driving Website Traffic with Videos?

There are all sorts of debates over which keyword tool is the best or which html editor is the most user-friendly, but there can be no argument that without traffic you cannot succeed.

It doesn’t matter how magnificent your web design is or how engaging and informative your content is, if no one comes to see it, you can’t build a list, you can’t promote an affiliate product or sell one of your own. Without traffic, your site might as well not exist.

Having said that, I’m venturing into areas I’ve never gone before to promote traffic…I’ve started using videos. And Twitter, although I’m not completely understanding how that will help. But if Alex Jeffreys and other marketers I respect say to tweet…well, then, I guess I start tweeting, whether I understand why or not.

Now, when I say video, I’m not talking about a slick Camtasia video…I’m taking baby steps and right now I’m loving animoto.com. They let me feel like I’m really making a quality video without my having to know diddly about actually creating a video.

You can make as many ‘animoto short videos’ as you want, for free. These are 30 seconds or less. If you want a longer video, you can either pay $3 for each one, or buy an All Access Pass for $30. The Pass lets you make as many full length videos as you want for an entire year.

I’m only on my 3rd video and already I’m wanting more than 30 seconds, so I paid the $3 tonight so I could make a longer video. But I know I’m gonna want that All Access Pass soon.

I’ll be anxious to see how much they help me with driving traffic to my sites.

If you haven’t made your first video, I want to encourage you to try animoto.com - it’ll take the fear right out of you and make you feel confident about your video creating skills. I like them because it’s allowing me to ease into video marketing without also having to be concerned about how I look or how I sound. And I really like that.

If you don’t mind my asking…have you made any videos yet? And if you have, and would like to share any tips you’ve learned or results you’ve had, please leave a comment!

  4. Hi Honey,

It’s taking me for ever to get round everyone just to say hi, so I don’t want you to think I am being rude, but I’m turbo hopping to get round as many of the F500 that I can. If I wait for you to come to me, it might never happen. Thanks to all who have already visited Planet Valz.

This means I have a standard message for everyone, and I’m leaving it as a comment to the latest post. I hope this does not offend you as communication and generosity is what is driving this.

Firstly, my wishes to you for a Happy, Healthy and very Prosperous Year 2009.

Secondly, I want to give you a New Year present, but you need to go to http://daybydaymarketing.com/2008/12/choose-your-new-year-present/

  5. It will be very interesting to follow your process with animoto. I am working the videos into my blog but have not made any of my own as of yet.

Twitter is a great avenue for traffic. Put up your latest blog post or updates to your site and especially don’t forget to throw in some slight personal information here and there. Possibly how your goals are going or the process you are going through for your next goal.

  6. Hello Honey, I am glad you are venturing into the world of video making. I agree Animoto is easy to use and I have used it on occasion as well. I really do think that videos are going to be a top tool for traffic driving. You know by yourself how you would rather look at somebody/something than only read text. It seems to get the point over more efficiently as well as being enjoyable in the process. Good luck with the video making and keep up the good work. Would appreciate your visiting my site some time and giving me your comments.
